Test Flanges

Test Flanges are blind flanges with a drilled and tapped NPT (threaded port connection).

With our full-service machine shop, we typically drill/tap these flanges with ½”, ¾” 1”, 1-1/2”, and 2” NPT, in either off-set (fill / drain) or center locations.

Our test flanges are in stock and readily available for rental in A105 material grade and available in all sizes ranging from ½” to 60” in both raised face (RF) and ring type joint (RTJ) finishes.  Sizes greater than 24” are also available in both Series A and Series B.

Rental options are guaranteed to be without flaw for the intended application, are blasted/primed with a Dimetcote® coating (for rust and weather resistance), and color-coded by class rating and stamped stenciled for easy identification. Items weighing greater than 50 lbs. will have a lifting lug along the OD for shackle lifting and simplified installation.

If longer lead times are allowed, purchase options are also available in all sizes, material grades, and finishes.  When competitor lead times are too long, we pride ourselves in our ability to manufacture any size blind flange in-house with our machine shop capabilities.

Vented Paddle Blinds

Vented Paddle Blinds have multiple uses, but their primary function is to allow users to block flow on one side of a blind while allowing pressure relief (zero energy) from the other side. This proven technology allows for much safer downstream work where your standard process valves may not be ideally located.  Vented Paddle Blinds have multiple beneficial uses and applications:

• Verifies the amount of line pressure.
• Relieves line pressure.
• Easy access for hydro-testing.
• Bleeds and drains lines.
• Entry point for purges.
• Testing point for hydrocarbons and other gases.

We are one of the leading manufacturers/suppliers of paddle blinds. In addition to conventional paddle blinds, we also manufacture standard and customized vented paddle blinds that are readily available in carbon steel for rental; or if a greater lead-time is allowed or different material grade required, custom options can easily be fabricated to client specification.

We manufacture our vented paddle blinds at a minimum of ¾” thickness allowing a ¼” NPT radial port machined 90 degrees in reference to our distinctive V-notched handle.

• Dimetcote® coating for rust and weather resistance
• Color-coded & stamped by class rating for easy identification, with holes in each handle for lockout/tagout.

However, multiple variations exist for these types of blinds and we take pride in our abilities/qualifications to fabricate all custom types.

Guillotine Blinds

Guillotine Blinds are a specialty item that combines applications of both a slip blind and blind flange. Typically, no thinner than ½” thick, these slip blinds have threaded bolt-hole tabs where a stud can be run through and a nut fastened on the back side of the weld neck. This eliminates the usual need for a torqued down blind flange, allowing various applications and ease of installation for your spool piece.

Whether it’s to maintain a slight nitrogen purge or simply eliminate contamination, these blinds are an extremely efficient and cost-effective option. Our guillotine blinds are predominately fabricated on an as-needed basis, for purchase only; but we do have a small selection available in our rental stock—or can certainly discuss rental options to best suit your project requirements.
